Pack Overview
The World Famous Culver Cub Pack 79 was chartered by the Venice Hongwanji Buddhist Temple in 1970 and has grown and flourished in its 50+ years of existence. Boys and girls can join Pack 79 at anytime from Kindergarten through 5th grade.
There are plenty of opportunities for fun and fellowship, including camp outs, hikes, telling jokes, performing skits, playing games, racing pinewood derby cars, and just having fun. As the scouts get older the achievements become more challenging. The set program instills a sense of purpose and pride in setting and achieving goals.
Expectations for Parents
We are a volunteer-led organization. We are all busy, committed parents. We are a part of Cub Scouts because we believe in the importance of scouting for our kids and want to have activities we can do together as a family.
Parents are expected to stay with their scout and actively participate at Cub Scout outings, den/pack meetings, and community activities.
Active involvement and support
- Parents are expected to volunteer for a role, even small roles that you can do from home are helpful
- Attend monthly parent planning meetings, both Den and Pack
- Keep youth protection and other training current
- Your engagement makes it fun for your scouts and keeps our pack thriving! Share your ideas with the Pack!
